NC – SARA (National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements):  This website explains what SARA is,  who belongs to SARA, current members, and provides information of when SARA will begin.

WCET:  Provides background information on the history of state authorization and is a great resource to review state/institutional requirements.


Negotiated Rulemaking Committee:  This Web page contains information about our rulemaking efforts on program integrity and improvement.


UMass Online:  This page provides the current Higher Education Act status of all states. Links to the individual state pages provides information on state requirements, a communication log as well as any supporting documentation for exemption.


Cornell University Law School (34 CFR 600.9):  Provides the legal definition of state authorization.
